There are a small number of very dedicated activists, by the way, who are the exception to this general statement I have just made. But they are in the minority. The rest are content to watch the Daily Show and Colbert and read The Nation and blog all day long and feel like they are participating in some sort of movement.

With all due respect, but to say that Yahoo missed the entire Groupon phenomenon is a bit premature. Nobody has won Groupon yet Not to mention that e-commerce is not at the core of Yahoo’s business. What Yahoo, as a content company, has really missed is the digital publishing sector, including e-readers and micropayments as a way to monetize this premium content. Still, this can be said about almost any other “most important internet company.”
I’m ready. Seeing results based on pagerank is starting to get tiresome. However, I’ll look forward to not getting any commercial pages obscuring my search results… as if that’s going to happen.
